Go Steady Vancouver is a mobile application that connects couples (looking for things to do on dates) with Vancouver + The Lower Mainland’s best date ideas.
To make a profit, Go Steady Vancouver will rely on the money it generates from selling ad space to local businesses. The app will be free for users.
My Objectives when creating this app were to:
- Promote Vancouver’s culture and activities to both locals and to tourists.
- Promote the area’s unknown or little-known businesses.
- Promote date ideas that can be done on the cheap. After all, a hot date shouldn't always break the bank!
- Create a strong brand identity in order to make Go Steady Vancouver the go-to application for date night
planning.
My Primary Target Audience Consists of: Couples aged 18-40 living in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland who have low to moderate incomes but spend a high portion of their money on entertainment, eating out and leisure activities. These couples already use mobile apps for organizing their time, to-do lists, budgets, inspiration, etc. They are both ‘innovators’ who seek challenge and variety, and 'experiencers’ who seek spontaneity and excitement. They embrace and love things that are offbeat, obscure, risky and quirky. These couples go on dates about 2-3 times per month.

Another way to search for a date idea (instead of entering in location, budget, and style criteria) is to select the 'Popular Dates' button from the bottom menu. This way, users who are short on time (and love spontaneity) can quickly browse the current week's popular dates.
